The Osceola Grand Hotel is located adjacent to the Osceola County Fairgrounds, a popular location for many annual festivals and events.

In May, the Osceola County Fairgrounds hosts the Mid-Michigan Independent Trappers Spring Rendezvous and in August, the Mid-Michigan Trappers State Convention.

In June, the Woodcarver’s Round-Up features workshops for beginners as well as accomplished carvers and in September, the annual “Spit & Whittle” weekend brings a more informal gathering of whittlers of all levels of ability.

In July, the Original Dulcimer Players Club Funfest brings musicians from across the country to Evart for a four day event dubbed the largest gathering of hammered dulcimers in the world. Workshops feature nearly every acoustic instrument imaginable. Concerts, stage shows, and informal jamming sessions make this a unique and unforgettable experience.

From May to October, something is always going on at the fairgrounds.

For the outdoors enthusiast, the area surrounding Evart is a recreational paradise. Public and private lakes provide eager anglers with a variety of excellent pan fish, while the abundance of diverse wildlife in the region provides some of the best hunting opportunities around.

Winter sports enthusiasts find excellent cross country skiing conditions around Evart with miles of groomed trails. Hundreds of miles of marked snowmobile trails cross through Evart making it a popular stopping off point. With the advent of spring, these same trails give opportunity for hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and even bird watching.

The Muskegon River and many surrounding inland lakes offer boating, canoeing, kayaking, and waterskiing.
